What is a company registry

A company registry is the legal entity of which the applying company must register with so they can begin operating as a legal entity. When registering with a company registry, it is the act of incorporating a company within a chosen jurisdiction and enabling it to function based upon the regulations put in place by that jurisdiction.

A company registry explained

The company registry is responsible for incorporating a company under a particular jurisdiction and it is a legal entity which is in compliance with international business regulations. A range of documents will be required during the registration process, each of which will vary dependent upon the chosen jurisdiction’s company registry.

Once the registration process has been approved and the company is certified under its chosen jurisdiction, it can begin conducting business in compliance with its registered jurisdiction. All business must comply with the legal sanctions of the jurisdiction.

Whilst conducting business under a specific jurisdiction, the company is required to submit documents in line with the jurisdiction rules and regulations. For example, some countries require minutes of all proceedings held at directors’ meetings. In addition, a variety of documents relating to the company may be requested at any time.
